Audit .env files, JSON and text lists in your browser
Compare environments before a deploy and find the key that exists in staging but not in production. Keys are compared structurally rather than as raw text, so a value that changed and a line that moved are two different results.
Comparators — Audit .env files, JSON, and text lists for missing, extra and changed keys. (secrets stay local)
What it does
- .env, JSON and list modes — Each mode understands the shape of what it is comparing, so it reports missing keys, extra keys and changed values instead of a wall of line-level noise.
- Compared on your device — The comparison runs in the page, not on a server. If you use one of its AI actions, both sides are sent to the AI provider you chose with .env values unmasked, so skip those actions for real secrets.
- Findings you can act on — The result names the keys that differ, which is what you check before promoting a build.
What it does not do
This compares configuration files and lists; it does not resolve variable interpolation, so a value that is equal only after expansion will read as different.
InTab is free and runs in this browser tab. There is no account, no sign-up and no login screen. Requests leave the tab when you start them — an AI prompt to the provider you chose (including the AI actions in each tool, which send the content they name), an API call, a web search, or an optional encrypted backup to your own Google Drive or OneDrive. Read the privacy policy for what each of those sends, and where.
