Format and validate JSON and XML with inline error locations
Paste a payload and get it indented, or find out precisely why a parser refused it. The formatter reports the line and column of the failure instead of a generic syntax error, which is the difference between a five-second fix and a hunt.
Formatters — Prettify and validate JSON and XML with inline error locations. (JSON · XML)
What it does
- JSON and XML, validated properly — Both formats are parsed by the app's own parsers rather than a regex tidy-up, so a document this page accepts is a document a real parser accepts.
- Errors point at the line — A malformed document reports the failing line and column in the editor, next to the content rather than in a separate message.
- Formatted in the page — Formatting and validation happen in the page, not on a server. The document is sent anywhere only if you use an AI action, which sends it to the AI provider you chose.
What it does not do
JSON and XML only — this page does not format YAML, TOML, SQL or CSV. Naming that boundary is the point: a validator that quietly accepts what it does not understand is worse than no validator.
InTab is free and runs in this browser tab. There is no account, no sign-up and no login screen. Requests leave the tab when you start them — an AI prompt to the provider you chose (including the AI actions in each tool, which send the content they name), an API call, a web search, or an optional encrypted backup to your own Google Drive or OneDrive. Read the privacy policy for what each of those sends, and where.
